With supreme knowledge of the industry and investment into wool practices being a core focus, Glencroft are fast becoming known as one of the top British brands in the field, with amazing claims to fame including Rural Business of the Year 2022.
The Traceable Clapham Wool Project.
Every hank of Glencroft’s traceable hand knit Yorkshire yarn has a QR code that takes you to a page of exclusive knitting patterns that they have tried and tested with this wool (and a regular web address for anyone without a smartphone). So whether your knitting a pair of mittens for a new family addition or venturing onto something completely different, you can be assured the materials used have been sourced fairly.
Made entirely in the UK from 100% British Wool.
For this new original design created with KnitLab North, Glencroft wanted to make a modern version of their fishing jumpers of the past, including using traditional patterns and motifs, a roll neck collar, and a gorgeous pastel blue British Wool yarn.
All knitted with attention to detail down to the last stitch, one jumper should last you for decades.
Being on the North Devon coastline means this jumper was a must have style and will be available in our harbour shop this coming season.
Yet again, Made entirely in the UK from 100% British Wool.
These Made entirely in the UK from 100% British Wool, feature a geometric pattern based on the classic Aran pattern from the islands of the same name on the West Coast of Ireland, these gorgeous hats with a turned up brim are available in classic cream (also called ecru as it is not dyed) and cream nep, which is cream with flecks of natural brown, black and grey.
While we may be slowly coming into spring these hats are the perfect hiking or walking pattern, 100% natural and without any sort of inner lining the hats are fully breathable preventing any sweat or moisture build up.
This also makes them perfect for hiking in almost any weather.
How can we do a brand focus special without mentioning some luxurious Sheepskin Slippers for women.
It’s unusual to mention Glencroft and not immediately assume a British Made item, however just knowing it’s an item that Glencroft have been involved in designing and testing is enough, combine this with ourselves at Lambland having footwear made in Portugal, (where know the quality of craftsmanship is high) and you are surely onto a winning combination.
To wrap up our Glencroft special, the unmistakable dales sheep jumper.
Originally introduced in the 1980’s this incredibly popular jumper is crafted in a unisex fitting, yes that means suitable for both men and women, which also means there’s absolutely no excuse not to have matching jumpers.
The popular ‘cream-nep’ colour which is a cream with flecks of natural grey / black fibres makes another appearance on this stunning sweater, with yet again, a traditional Aran pattern.
That about wraps up our Brand Focus for this blog, be sure to check out Glencroft on social media where you can keep upto date with all the new developments and don’t forget if you have purchased a Glencroft product from us at Lambland, share it online with #mylambland.
Much Love from the Lambland Team x
