One thing we do look forward to every year is the gorgeous Classic Car gathering on Exmoor known as the Lyn Valley Classic, it was a great turnout this year and is a favourite event with us here, especially with the directors and we visit it every year if we can. It is Father’s Day this weekend, so we thought we’d aim a blog more toward the petrol head Dad’s this week.

If you haven’t visited the Lyn Valley Classic yet you really should, it is the ultimate place to be for all those serious about the automotive industry, plus if you are an classic owner you can display yours for free and enjoy the day from the drivers seat. If you love your classics, sports and super cars there is always a great turnout throughout the day and it allows you plenty of time to enjoy the picturesque villages too and grab a delicious bite to eat… a man needs feeding.

It is an event run by volunteers, mostly from local business and a lot of money goes to selected charities, so it’s for a good cause too. Usually there is an eclectic mix of cars, tractors and bikes from a static display in Lynmouth, whilst local car clubs such as Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and the Classic Minehead Car Club tour from Lynton into Lynmouth throughout the day. If you want to see some events throughout this year that we have around Devon and Somerset, we think you should try and get to these:

Powderham Historic Vehicle Gathering, Exeter on 7th July

Blackmore Vale Revival, Somerset 7th July

Wheels Classic Vehicle Rally, Cornwall 15th July
