Since we have expanded our sheepskin rug range we have noticed a large increase of customers and designers contacting us for luxurious sheepskin for their latest creations. Interior design is at an all time high at the moment with more people adopting the DIY route with home furnishing or crafting; we like anything hand made so naturally we love to get involved and offer advice for exciting projects.

Instagram and Pinterest are incredible platforms for inspiration, especially for home décor and we love the community of home owners and designers who happily share their recent creations and offer advice and styling tips to others wanting to do the same. In recent months we have found that tibetan sheepskin is a must have staple in the home, we’ve seen inspiring work from creative individuals who have taken a skin and used it to create something new or add a luxurious finish to an item.

I personally love the use of a tibetan skin on a stool for added comfort, stitched underneath for a sleek finish, we have also seen some amazing crafted pieces such as a multiple skin bead spread or even a wall hanging to add a soft touch to the home.

It is even more exciting when an old item can be recycled as we care greatly about the environment, one of our favourites is the re upholstering of an old chair but with a luxurious sheepskin, yes this has been done and it looks incredible once complete. Shearling sheepskins are perfect for dress making as the skins are very soft and the wool pile is dense and short providing great warmth and a good amount of thickness. Usually we find that most people are restoring a garment rather than crafting a new one, such as a replacement collar or the insoles of a pair of sheepskin boots.
